Meet Dr. Upchurch
Dr. Scott Upchurch entered the Air Force in May of 2008 following completion of dental school at The University of Texas Health Science Center Houston-Dental Branch. He completed his residency in Advanced Education General Dentistry at Sheppard Air Force Base, Wichita Falls, Texas in 2009. He was then assigned to the 65th Air Base Group, Lajes Air Field, Portugal. Dr. Upchurch served two years providing full spectrum dental care and services to members and their dependents. During his assignment in Lajes he maintained his certification in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support. He also became certified in Advanced Trauma Life Support by completing Combat Casualty Care at Fort Sam Houston, Sant Antonio, TX. Upon separation from active duty Dr. Upchurch was assigned to the 72ndMedical Group, Tinker AFB, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. In 2019 Dr. Upchurch transferred to the 301st Medical Squadron, Naval Air Station, Joint Reserve Base, Fort Worth, TX where he currently serves as Lieutenant Colonel. Since 2011, Dr. Upchurch has been the practicing in Leonard, TX providing full spectrum family dentistry from pediatrics to geriatrics, including intravenous sedation, cosmetic and implant dentistry while traveling to provide in-office sedation and surgical extractions for other general dental offices. When not caring for his patients Dr. Upchurch enjoys all kinds of outdoor activities including hunting and fishing. His hobbies also include playing the guitar and perfecting his Spanish. His absolute pride and joy is his beautiful wife Jana and their four amazing children Jaycie, Grady, Greenlee, and Gabe.
